Along with two-photon excitation of H{sub 2} ({ital X}{r arrow}{ital EF}) stimulated electronic hyper-Raman scattering (SEHRS) is observed on four of seven two-photon resonances. The tunable Stokes transitions to {ital B}-state levels are in the range 750--840 nm. This is, to our knowledge, the first observation of SEHRS with a molecule. In addition, an unassigned stimulated line, redshifted by 26.7 cm{sup {minus}1} relative to the {ital EF}({ital v}{prime}=6){r arrow}{ital B}({ital v}{prime}{prime}=1) {ital P}(2) line, is observed. This transition entails four additional vacuum ultraviolet lines, blueshifted by the same amount relative to tabulated {ital B}{r arrow}{ital X} transitions.
