PWR secondary water chemistry guidelines - an update

Conference · · Am. Soc. Mech. Eng., (Pap.); (United States)
OSTI ID:5244743
guidelines for PWR secondary water chemistry control (1) have been prepared by a committee of experts from the utility industry through an effort sponsored by the Steam Generator Owners Group. These Guidelines are based on extensive plant operational experience and laboratory research data. They have been developed for use by PWR owners to provide guidance for applying state-of-the-art technology to minimize localized corrosion in PWR steam generators and turbines and increase long-term plant availability. This paper is the text of a presentation of an overview of those guidelines as they apply to PWRs with recirculating steam generators. It updates a paper presented at the 1982 International Water Conference.(2)
