This booklet describes the electrical properties of a-c and d-c transmission lines and the resulting effects on plants, animals, and people. Methods used by BPA to mitigate undesirable effects are also discussed. The information in this booklet pertains primarily to high-voltage transmission lines. The electrical properties discussed are power-frequency electric and magnetic fields and corona. 364 refs.
