The purpose of this report is to present observations made on two captive Rocky Mountain mule deer during parturition. Both does were two years old and had not previously borne young. Observations, made at a distance not exceeding 6 meters, were facilitated by tameness of the deer which had been hand-raised as fawns. Does were confined in a vegetated, 0.32 hectare pen with other deer as part of a research colony located 3.2 kilometers west of Fort Collins, Colorado. Time durations are summarized in tabular form.
