Recently, Al-Li based alloys have attracted strong interest especially in the aerospace industry and other applications where weight reduction is important. The Al-Li alloy system shows age hardening, resulting from precipitation of metastable {delta}{prime} (Al{sub 3}Li) particles which have an ordered Li{sub 2} structure (Cu{sub 3}Au type). The {delta}{prime} phase produces a small lattice mismatch with the solution matrix; strain effects are thereby minimized. As a result, {Delta}{prime} precipitates remain coherent with the matrix phase and are of spherical shape even when their sizes reach several hundreds of nm. The present paper is a continuation of a previous investigation which concentrated on Al-Li alloys containing 5.2, 7, and 12 at% Li. Therefore, the current results may be combined with the previous ones to provide an integral view of the {delta}{prime} coarsening behavior in Al-Li binary system.
