Experimental studies of condensation heat transfer with condensible gases present at high pressure indicate that noncondensible gases are removed from the vapor-noncondensible gas mixture by solution in the condensate film. A computer code was written which extends the method developed by Colburn and Hougen to include this phenomenon. When the vapor flow is turbulent the mass transfer is computed using the correlation of Gilliand. When the vapor flow is laminar, the analogy between heat and mass transfer is employed along with the heat transfer predictions of Kays for laminar heat transfer in a tube. The model is in good agreement with the experimental data.
