Acid rain

Book ·
OSTI ID:5235551
Canada today blames United States factories for the acid rain that damages its forests, decay its statuary, and pollutes its lakes, making them uninhabitable for fish. In response, the United States denies that coal with a high sulfur content causes acid rain and says that more research is needed to determine its source. To bridge the gap between public policy makers and scientists, groups that communicate among themselves far better than with each other, Stopp compiled this bibliography of 886 books, articles, conference papers, ERIC documents, and government publications published through 1984. Stopp, the author of three of those 886 items, has excluded popular treatments in favor of annotations which will help readers judge items. Written in a telegraphic style, these two- or three-sentence annotations describe the items, evaluate them, and identify their audience. The bibliography covers both the scientific and the political aspects of the acid rain question.
