The 80-acre Jacksonville Municipal Landfill site is an inactive landfill outside the city limits of Jacksonville, Lonoke County, Arkansas, in a floodplain area. Neighboring the site are the Rogers Road Municipal Landfill and the Vertac Chemical Superfund sites. The Record of Decision (ROD) addresses the drummed waste, soil, and loose debris, and their offsite disposal at the Vertac facility. The primary contaminants of concern affecting the soil and debris, are organics including pesticides, such as dioxin.
