The report provides a comprehensive review of recent developments concerning major labor problems in the contemporary world. The report is concerned mainly with facts, intended for people everywhere who are concerned with these problems. It examines employment in the world today, in the least developed countries, in the industrialized market economy countries, and in the centrally planned economy countries. It goes on to an analysis of economic migration for employment, to a review of incomes and wages in the world, current social security problems, and the impact of new information technologies. It concludes with statistical data on the world labor force, income distribution and social security.
