This article aims at exploring the nonstatistical effects in the radiative neutron capture, its effect on the (n,..gamma..) cross section and the variation with the mass number, in the 3s giant resonance region of the neutron strength function (the mass number ranges from 40 to 65) and its neighborhood. The energy region where the calculations were done ranges from 100 keV to 3 MeV. In this energy region, the nonstatistical effects such as the potential capture, the capture into the compound-elastic and inelastic channels have to be considered in the calculation. The results of the calculation for the six even-even nuclei have shown that if the neutron energy is less than 1 MeV, the nonstatistical effects may account for about 10%--20% of the total (n,..gamma..) cross sections. Beyond the 3s giant resonance region, i.e., A>65, the cross section for the nonstatistical effects and its ratio to the total (n,..gamma..) cross section apparently decreases with increase of the mass number.
