The main objectives of this grant was the development of a product and a device, the demonstration of the device and product with the ultimate goal being the commercialization of one or both. The device, a residue fired burner, residue being sawdust in this case, was constructed and tested with favorable results but the lack of sufficient funds prevented its development. The product, an All Wood Briquet, subsequently called the Milltown Loggett, was successfully refined and demonstrated. A business plan including financing, marketing and production has been prepared and is presently being implemented to place the Milltown Loggett into commercial production. Unfortunately we were not able to complete the project goals during the grant period nor was the funding sufficient. The project was more costly, more complicated and took much longer than anticipated, but with that DOE assistance the desired goal was achieved; that is a good, safe, clean environmentally sound commercial product for the consumer market and the creation of new jobs in an economically depressed area.
