Chopper spectrometers

Chopper spectrometers are devices for measuring the dynamics of a condensed system, conveniently described in terms of the scattering function. The basic concepts of the chopper spectrometer and of time-of-flight analysis are briefly reviewed, followed by the performance of the instrument. Some examples illustrate the method. (LEW)
