Lepto-quark matter represents new fermionic matter that carries quark as well as lepton numbers This paper presents an extension of the standard model with three families of conventional quarks and leptons in which freedom from anomalies is secured through the presence of lepto-quark matter representations. The gauge symmetry of the model is SU(2){sub L} {times} U(1){sub q} {times} U(1){sub 1} where U(1){sub q} and U(1){sub 1} refer to distinct hypercharge sources for the quarks and the leptons.
