Observation of the negative cavity-detuning effect in synchronously transient-pumped mode-locked dye laser

The second-harmonic pulse train from an actively/passively mode-locked Nd:YAG laser is used as the pumping source, and the negative cavity detuning effect on synchronously transient pumped mode-locking of rhodamine 6G dye laser with only twelve modulations is studied. It is found that under negative cavity detuning the laser pulse has a two-spike structure. The sub-spike disappears, and the single pulse exists with the matched cavity length.
