The author shows how the Syntax machine can be used as a basis of the design concept for highly parallel computers. The Syntax machine which was developed by Glennie forces one to code a compiler based on the syntax rules of the language. The approach leads to LISP-like languages and message driven software when writing application programs. 16 references.
