Three-particle semileptonic decays of the tau lepton and locality of the leptonic weak current
The tau-lepton decays with the detection of one of the produced hadrons (together with the neutrino ..nu../sub tau/) are studied in a general form. The locality of the interaction of the lepton pair makes it possible to predict the dependence of the decay probability of polarized and unpolarized tau leptons on the energy of the detected pion. The conservation of the hadronic vector weak current, which determines the decays tau/sup -/..--> nu../sub tau/+..pi../sup -/+..pi../sup 0/ and tau/sup -/..--> nu../sub tau/+..pi../sup -/+..omega.., leads to additional predictions about the energy dependence of the decay probability. In the case of the decay tau/sup -/..--> nu../sub tau/+..pi../sup -/+rho/sup 0/ the locality makes it possible to predict the values of three (of the seven) coefficients determining the energy dependences of the unpolarized tau-lepton decay probability and the angular-distribution asymmetries resulting from the longitudinal components of the tau-lepton polarization vector.
