The probabilities of monoenergetic pair conversion of nuclear ..lambda..L multipoles, accompanied by filling a hole of an (nlj) level of an atomic shell, are expressed in terms of the cross section of the inverse process of nonradiative annihilation of a positron by electrons of the (nlj) level. Earlier calculations by the authors (Sov. Phys. JETP 47, 6 (1978) and 49, 202 (1979); Atom. Energ. Inst. Preprint 2897, 1977) of the cross sections of nonradiative annihilation on K shells of atoms with Z=41, 49, 60, 70, 82, and 92 for the E0, E1, and M1 multipoles are supplemented here by results of a calculation for the K shells of these atoms in the case of the E2 and M2 multipoles, as well as by a calculation of the annihilation factors on the LI, LII, and LIII subshells of the lead atom for all the multipoles indicated above. The calculations were performed for the positron-energy interval E/sub +/=0.55 to 6.5 MeV. The results obtained for the coefficient of monoenergetic pair conversion are in good agreement with recent results of Karpeshin and Sliv (Izv. AN SSSR, ser. fiz. 42, 186 (1972)), who investigated in detail the monoenergetic pair conversion for the K shell of atoms with Z=35, 50, 65, and 84 in the case of E1, M1, and E2 multipoles and in the same energy interval. The Hartree-Fock-Slater relativistic atom electron functions are used.
