Radon measurements at three New Zealand geothermal areas

Journal Article · · Geothermics; (United States)

Radon-222 measurements are reported for geothermal areas at Wairakei, Broadlands and Ngawha, New Zealand. They suggest that for Wairakei the origin of the Radon 222 is deep, follows the carbon dioxide, and there is little contribution from local ground water. The reverse is true at Hgawha, and Broadlands is intermediate. 16 refs.
