Photoproduction of K/sup +/ mesons in three-body nuclei

Photoproduction of K/sup +/ mesons in three-body nuclei is studied with a hybrid method based on the use of the basis of hyperspherical functions in solution of the Faddeev integral equations. It is shown that, if relatively smooth potentials are used, the hybrid method provides good convergence in the number of included harmonics, both for the binding energy of the nuclei participating in the reaction and for the reaction cross sections. The effect of the final-state interaction of all baryons is significant, while the influence of the nuclear medium on the photoproduction of K/sup +/ mesons is mainly quantitative. It is shown also that it is much more advantageous for the ..lambda.. particle produced in the processes considered not to be bound with baryons, and at the same time the channel with production of the /sup 3//sub ..lambda../H hypernucleus is significantly suppressed.
