A circuit to predict the suboptimal switchover time is proposed. Performances of the proposed circuit are confirmed by the experimental tests using a power system simulator. Two model systems were set up for the tests: a one-machine infinite-bus system, and a two-machine infinite-bus system. The switchover time was analytically determined. The computing time required for the determination of switchover time by analog/digital computer was studied. It is also shown that the proposed method is applicable to the bang-bang control of the series condenser. The effectiveness of the proposed method using a power system simulator was confirmed.
