Three-body [sup 3]He photodisintegration was measured in the photon energy range ([ital E][sub [gamma]]) of 145--425 MeV. The total cross section for photon absorption on the [ital np] pairs in [sup 3]He, [sigma]([sup 3]He([gamma],[ital np])[ital p][sub sp]), where [ital p][sub sp] is a spectator proton, is reported here for the first time. The [ital E][sub [gamma]] dependence of the [sigma] is found to scale to that of [sigma]([sup 2]H([gamma],[ital np])), and the ratio is determined to be [sigma]([sup 3]He([gamma],[ital np])[ital p][sub sp])/[sigma]([sup 2]H([gamma],[ital np]))=1.24[plus minus]0.,26.
