The problem of collection of light hydrocarbon fractions volatilizing into the atmosphere arises in the course of oil refining, petrochemical synthesis, and loading and unloading operations. In many cases the absorption method is used for recovery of hydrocarbons; for development of this method at the stage of industrial plant design it is necessary to have data on liquid-vapor equilibrium in the systems, pentane, hexadecane, diesel fuel and gasoline. Phase equilibrium were studied by a dynamic method with the aid of a stream of inert gas, based on establishment of equilibrium between the contents of the volatile component (gasoline, hexane, pentane) in the gas and liquid phases. The liquid phase was analyzed chromatographically. Characteristics of the substances used are given. Results of determinations of phase equilibria are included. Results of phase-equilibrium calculations show that the hexadecane-pentane mixture behaves like an ideal system. 2 tables. (DP)
