Multiplicity and pseudorapidity distributions in He-nucleus interactions at ultrarelativistic energy

In this paper from the peripheral collisions of a {sup 32}S beam at 200 A GeV in nuclear emulsion, He tracks among the projectile fragments are identified and are followed for their interactions. The multiplicity distributions and their fluctuations in pseudorapidity intervals of the shower particles produced with {approximately} 500 He interactions in emulsions are compared with {sup 32}S and {sup 16}O beams at 200A GeV and {sup 16}O at 60A GeV interactions. It is primarily the geometry of the nuclear collisions that determines the shape of different distributions.
