The basic principles used in dynamic analysis of structures are developed. The topics covered range from free vibration of single-degree-of-freedom systems to forced vibration response of multi-degree-of-freedom systems. Example problems are presented to illustrate various solution techniques ahd show how they may be applied to practical problems. The text is made to accompany a course in structural dynamics given by the authors at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
