Thermodynamic properties of real and synthetic fluid mixtures derived from fossil substances: pressure-density-temperature properties of methanol

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5190363
The pressure-density-temperature properties of methanol have been determined from 298.15 to 533.15 k and at pressures up to 400 bar. The vapor pressure was determined from 363.15 to the critical temperature of 512.64 K. The density of the liquid phase was determined from 298.15 to 503.15 K, and the density of the vapor was determined at 503.15 K. Some decomposition of the sample was noted at temperatures above 423.15 K and procedures were adopted to correct for this problem. 18 refs., 2 figs., 4 tabs.
