This Utilities Characteristics Profile is a set of data on electric and gas utilities. The profile provides data on electric and gas use in the nine Electric Reliability Council regions, the fifty states and the District of Columbia. It also provides data on all class A and B electric utilities, the major gas utilities in each state, the twenty largest municipally owned electric utilities and the twenty largest municipally owned gas utilities in the nation. The profile was developed to assist in planning utility energy conservation programs for state utility regulatory agencies and non-regulated utilities.
