Resonant-excitation-double-autoionization process in the electron-impact ionization of Li-like ions

We have calculated the contributions of excitation-autoionization and resonant-excitation-double-autoionization indirect-ionization mechanisms to electron-impact ionization of Li-like B{sup 2+}, C{sup 3+}, N{sup 4+}, O{sup 5+}, and F{sup 6+} ions. We considered twelve autoionizing states arising from the 1{ital s}2{ital s}{sup 2}, 1{ital s}2{ital s}2{ital p}, 1{ital s}2{ital p}{sup 2}, 1{ital s}2{ital s}3{ital s}, and 1{ital s}2{ital s}3{ital p} configurations. Rydberg series 1{ital s}2{ital s}2{ital ln}{prime}{ital l}{prime} and 1{ital s}2{ital s}3{ital ln}{prime}{ital l}{prime} of resonances, which arise due to the resonant-excitation-double-autoionization process, are included in our calculation. The calculated resonance structures in the cross sections agree very well with recent crossed-beam measurements.
