  • The bibliography contains citations concerning air pollution control technology and various methods for desulfurization of coal combustion streams. Examples include fluidized bed and other combustion modifications, and the removal of sulfur dioxide from flue gas. Proper monitoring of the effluent to meet the established atmospheric standards is also discussed. Applications in powerplants, steam boilers, furnaces, kilns, and gas turbines are presented. (Contains 250 citations and includes a subject term index and title list.)
  • The bibliography contains citations concerning laser technology translated from foreign language (non-English) publications. Laser cavities, laser output, laser pumping, laser mode locking, and laser tuning are among the topics discussed. The citations examine laser technology in applications such as the identification of meteorological objects; holography; instruments for spacecraft, communications, target acquisition, and positioning; and materials processing. (Contains a minimum of 241 citations and includes a subject term index and title list.)
  • The bibliography contains citations concerning water resources data by state. Data include records of stage, discharge, and water quality of streams; the stage, contents, and water quality of lakes and reservoirs; and levels and quality of waterwells. Completeness of information varies with each reporting state. Water quality records are gathered and maintained by the local Geological Survey. Water quality standards are discussed in a separate bibliography. (Contains 250 citations and includes a subject term index and title list.)
  • This bibliography contains citations concerning existing and projected military utilization of space by the United States and foreign powers. Long-term strategies, technical feasibility studies, space weapons, including high-energy lasers, shuttle operations, and the use of space in tactical operations are among the topics considered. Many of the recent citations cover the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) program. (This updated bibliography contains 297 citations, 120 of which are new entries to the previous edition.)
  • The bibliography contains citations concerning the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Citations cover the handling of hazardous waste, facility investigation, and updates and reviews of selected provisions of the act. Groundwater monitoring, landfill design, liner systems, and incineration standards are among the topics discussed. (Contains 250 citations and includes a subject term index and title list.)
