The sediments and interstitial waters of four rivers of the Chesapeake Bay, the Potomac, Patuxent, Severn, and Magothy, were analyzed for trace metals (Cu, Ni and Pb in the waters, Cu, Ni, Pb, Co, Cr, V and C in the sediments) to determine their distribution as a function of natural and man induced processes.
