A drilling shaft is subjected to repeated screwing and unscrewing when making a bore hole, resulting in the wear of the locking threads. Studies were carried out to evaluate the wear of the locking threads using lubricants. A device used to carry out tests has a mechanism for screwing and unscrewing joints of pump-compressor pipelines used for underground repair of boreholes. Methods of periodic determination of wear resistance of the threaded joints by making casts and measuring the axial tension in the joint after a certain number of screwing and unscrewing cycles were used. Results show that lubricant GS-1 ensures a high wear restance of 40Kh metal of joints with threads Z-42 made of the metal. Lubricant GS-1 possesses high adhesive properties compared with oil-based lubricants type R-416.
