We examine the implication of the unitarity bounds for the differential cross section to the break structure of the forward peak of elastic {ital pp} and {ital {bar p}p} scattering observed at the squared momentum transfer {vert bar}{ital t}{vert bar}=0.1--0.15 (GeV/{ital c}){sup 2} at high energies. The break is suggested to occur at around 8.8/{ital R}{sub 0}{sup 2}{lt}{vert bar}{ital t}{vert bar}{lt}14.7/{ital R}{sub 0}{sup 2}, {ital R}{sub 0} being the interaction radius given in terms of {sigma}{sub {ital t}}{sup 2}/{sigma}{sub el}. This fits well with the experimental data of {ital pp} scattering in the energy region {radical}{ital s} =10--60 GeV and {ital {bar p}p} in 10--546 GeV. Scaling with the variable {ital t}{sigma}{sub {ital t}}{sup 2}/{sigma}{sub el} is discussed.
