Internal magnetic fields in YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub {ital x}} and La{sub 1.85}Sr{sub 0.15}CuO{sub 4} have been investigated below 90 mK using muon spin rotation. In YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub {ital x}} the static internal magnetic field at the muon site due to magnetic ordering remains constant with increasing {ital x} up until {ital x}=6.30 and then rapidly approaches zero just above {ital x}=6.44. In heavily doped samples of YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub {ital x}} ({ital x}{ge}6.54, {ital T}{sub {ital c}}{ge}52 K) and La{sub 2{minus}{ital y}}Sr{sub {ital y}}CuO{sub 4} ({ital y}=0.15, {ital T}{sub {ital c}}=37 K) we find little evidence for static or slowly fluctuating electronic moments. These results clearly establish that static magnetic order is destroyed in regions of high carrier concentration.
