Relatively little attention is given to operations performed on a well after a liner has been set and cemented. However, post cementing procedures can be critically important to the success of a liner setting job and merit careful consideration. This discussion recommends some specific post cementing practices which have been used successfully on ultradeep liner jobs and are considered field proven. Thus, it is important that the recommended production liner cleanout procedures be closely followed, since they usually are performed under low clearance conditions with lower strength work strings and with a higher incidence of fishing jobs. Included are descriptions of equipment and techniques used for installing stub liners as well as full liner tieback strings.
