/sup 2/H(d,. gamma. )/sup 4/He reaction and the /sup 4/He D state

The /sup 2/H(d,..gamma..) /sup 4/He reaction observables resulting from M1, E1, M2, and E2 transitions are studied quantitatively. The calculations are in agreement with recent data for the reaction vector (A/sub y/) and tensor (A/sub y//sub y/) analysing powers at 5 MeV center of mass energy and also with the best available theoretical predictions for the /sup 4/He D state wave function.
