VERA2D-84: a computer program for two-dimensional analysis of flow, heat, and mass transfer in evaporative cooling towers. Volume 1. Documentation. Final report
VERA2D-84, a modified version of VERA2D, is a computer program for steady-state, two-dimensional analysis of flow, heat and mass transfer in wet cooling towers. The code is written in FORTRAN IV, and is applicable to the following types of towers: (1) rectangular mechanical draft crossflow; (2) rectangular mechanical draft counterflow; (3) natural draft crossflow; (4) natural draft counterflow; (5) round mechanical draft crossflow; (6) round mechanical draft counterflow; and (7) back-to-back mechanical draft counterflow. The mathematical formulation, solution procedure and several applications of the original code, VERA2D, had been documented previously. This report describes the modifications made to the original model, and supplements this earlier documentation. A new self-contained User's Manual has also been prepared for VERA2D-84.
