Routines for interpolation using cubic splines and pseudosplines. [SPLIMP sets up implicit spline solution, PSUIMP sets up implicit pseudospline matrices, ENDPNT fills in end points, in FORTRAN]
With the continuity of the first derivative at the knots as a unifying concept, the equation sets describing two cubic splines are developed. The resulting systems of linear equations have tridiagonal coefficient matrices; FORTRAN routines to generate these matrices are presented. Several interpolation problems are solved; the solutions are discussed. 13 figures, 2 tables.
