Quantum-electrodynamic effects inside a charged black hole and the problem of Cauchy horizons

The evolution of the space-time metric and physical fields inside a charged black hole is considered with allowance for the quantum-electrodynamic production of electron-positron pairs in a strong electric field. A consistent treatment of the processes leads to the conclusion that inside the black hole there is no nonsingular Cauchy horizon (in contrast to the classical unperturbed Reissner-Nordstroem solution), and the structure of space-time is analogous to the structure of an uncharged (Schwarzschild) black hole.
