This patent describes a system for receiving seismic energy in a marine seismic survey. It comprises a first sensor array, comprising: a cable, having first and second ends; a plurality of hydrophones, each coupled to the cable along its length; a flotation device coupled to the first end of the cable; and an anchor, coupled to the second end of the cable; and a positioning anchor; a first tensioning cable, extending from the positioning anchor and connected to the first end of the cable, for defining the angle of the first sensor array relative to the vertical according to the length of the tensioning cable between the positioning anchor and the first sensor array.
