Safety and operating experience at EBR-II: lessons for the future

This paper discusses safety aspects of the operating experience at EBR-II and the lessons learned thus far from that experience. Increasingly, this learning process is focusing on the importance of using inherent safety-related characteristics of LMFBR power plants to assure public safety and also to enhance protection of the plant itself. 19 refs.
