Excited states have been identified in {sup 111}Te using the {sup 56}Fe({sup 58}Ni,2pn) reaction at 240 MeV. Assignment of transitions to {sup 111}Te was made via measurements of {gamma} rays in coincidence with both evaporation neutrons and mass-analyzed recoils. The observed cascade of {gamma} rays is assumed to feed an isomeric state with J{sup {pi}}=11/2{sup {minus}}, similar to the yrast structures observed in other odd-mass tellurium isotopes. {copyright} {ital 1997} {ital The American Physical Society}
