Effect of depth of discharge on cycle life of near-term batteries

The cycle life capability of most battery systems depends strongly on depth of discharge. This paper summarizes existing experimental results for lead-acid, nickel-zinc, and nickel-iron batteries, and analyzes the factors and mechanisms that impact cycle life. 35 refs.
