Conference · · Proc., Intersoc. Energy Convers. Eng. Conf.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5156066
One of the five projects of the EHV Division is the Electric Vehicle Project which has a goal of stimulating industry commercialization in 1986 of competitive electric commuter vehicle capable of a 100 mile urban range in stop-and-go driving. Improvements in battery, propulsion system and vehicle design are required to achieve the 100 mile range goal. Under contract from DOE, General Electric and Chrysler recently designed and fabricated an improved four-passenger Electric Test Vehicle (ETV-1) with low road and aerodynamic energy losses and an efficient propulsion system. 12 refs.
