The Installation Restoration Program Toxicology Guide
One of the objectives of the US Air Force Installation Restoration Program (IRP) is to provide individuals responsible for the management and implementation of the IRP with information to evaluate the health hazards associated with actual or potential contamination of drinking water supplies. This IRP Toxicology Guide consists of four volumes which were initially issued in 1985--1987. The updated volumes of the Toxicology Guide include new regulatory requirements and recently published toxicology information. For each chemical in the IRP Toxicology Guide, the environmental fate, exposure pathways, toxicity, sampling and analysis methods and state and federal regulatory status are outlined. The material provided is intended as an overview of key topic areas; no attempt was made to provide a comprehensive review. Users are encouraged to read the Introduction to Volume 1 of the IRP Toxicology Guide before applying chemical-specific information.
