This paper gives the results of an investigation into some neutron-physical characteristics of the first fuel charge of the Kol'skaya NPS VVER-440 reactor. The fuel charge utilizes the degraded fuel assemblies for the 216-eff. day first fuel cycle and contains 270 fresh with an average /sup 235/U enrichment of 2.533% and 72 degraded fuel assemblies with initial enrichment of 1.6% and an average uranium burn-up of 12.4 MW x day/kg. An ES-1033 computer was used for optimizing the FA arrangement over the core by the program PROROK-2.
