Method for calculation of storage life of packaged lubricating greases

The allowable term of storage of lubricating greases is determined by an intuitive-logical analysis called ''expert evaluations'' in which a successive comparison of quality indexes is measured and ranked according to technical standardization documentation. The properties that change the most of the viscosity, yield stress, colloidal stability and content of free alkali. These quality indexes were used as the basis for developing a procedure for predicting the storage life of greases, which is described.
