Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5151388
The Monolithic Memories Site (MMS) is on the National Priorities List. The site is located in Sunnyvale (Santa Clara County), California. MMS consists of 4 buildings that are used for production, assembly, storage, and for offices and laboratories. Preliminary on-site ground water sampling results have identified 1,1,2-trichlorotrifluoroethane (1.7 ppb). Other preliminary on-site ground water sampling results identified tetrachloroethylene (PCE), trichloroethylene (TCE), xylene, chlorobenzene, dichlorobenzene, ethyl benzene, and acetone. The site is considered to be of potential public health concern because of the risk to human health caused by the possibility of human exposure to hazardous substances. Direct contact with and ingestion of contaminated ground water and soil are the exposure pathways of concern. In addition, inhalation of volatilized contaminants represents another possible source of exposure.
