A Coupled-Channel Born Approximation study of atom-diatom reactive scattering

Thesis/Dissertation ·
OSTI ID:5151313

The Coupled-Channel Born Approximation (CCBA) is used to study reactive scattering. The first step is to define the equations of relative motion assuming a known set of internal (molecular) states and interaction potentials. Next, Gordon's method is used in solving for the relative wave functions in an inelastic scattering example. Finally the CCBA and Gordon's method are applied to the reactive system H + H{sup 2} and a test of the complete computer simulation is obtained via a study of differential cross sections.
