This patent describes an X-ray tube rotor structure for a rotating anode type X-ray tube. It comprises an evacuated envelope; a hollow axially extending target support disposed within and fixed at one end; a shaft extending axially; a pair of spaced-apart ball bearing means; a nailhead shaped member; an annular plug possessing a right cylindrical axial bore removably fastened; a tubular rotor skirt disposed coaxially about portions; a bushing possessing a right cylindrical exterior surface and a coaxial bore with internally threaded portions; a welded joint; an elongate stem configured at one end for mounting a rotatable anode target and configured at the other end for coaxial threaded assembly; and a brazed joint interposed between assembled juxtaposed portions.
