Vertex operator construction of the thirring model and the associated Wess-Zumino-Witten model in two dimensions

The authors formulate the Thirring model and the associated U(N) Wess-Zumino-Witten model by a method of the vertex operator construction. Bosonization rules and relations between the two models are discussed. The singularities derived from the interactions can be systematically removed.
