Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) projects have been selected on the basis of their ability to provide economic benefit to the user by 1979. Besides technical accomplishments, EPRI's working relationships between staff and the advisory committee are noted to have progressed. Evidence of this is seen in the conclusions of the effectiveness review committee. The scope and progress of EPRI projects are reviewed and the need confirmed for a non-university institute to promote research, development, and demonstration projects in electric utility technology.
